VNET Building Project Update – 1st Quarter

VNET Building Project Update – 1st Quarter
March 19, 2018 Velocity Network

We are thrilled to finally share a quick look at our future headquarters in downtown Erie. Over the last three months, we’ve seen floors gutted, debris removed, windows demolished and relocated, and flooring structures removed and replaced. Our neighbors at DH Steel fabricated new steel beams to accommodate our new data center and central staircase. The crews have also removed the entire North Elevation of the building to make way for our new glass enclosure that will be built and installed by Schaal Glass. More recently, the construction crews have installed the metal wall framing and started to install HVAC ductwork on most of the floors, giving us our first real impression of how the floor plan will feel by the end of the renovation project. Check out the progress for yourself in this great video produced by our friends at MenajErie Studio.

If you've never heard of VNET, let's get you up to speed. We began in 1990 as an IT services provider (SOFTEK) and later revolutionized the region’s internet offerings with the launch of Velocity.Net (ISP) in 1996. Since then, we have grown to become the region’s leading internet, business technology, and voice service provider. Today we are expanding our commitment to the community by investing in a next generation fiber optic network - designed to deliver world class speeds and services, but with local service and support to homes and business throughout Erie County.
